2026 IEEE 2nd International Conference on Smart Power and Energy Technologies
Smart power and energy technologies are key supports and core drivers for the global energy system's transition from traditional fossil fuels to green and low-carbon energy. As the global energy transition accelerates, higher demands are placed on safe, efficient, low-cost, and sustainable power and energy systems, promoting the rapid development of related technologies such as smart power systems, renewable energy grid integration.
To ensure safety, reliability, and economy of energy during the green and low-carbon transition, it is urgent to strengthen the exchange and sharing of technological innovation achievements and best practices globally. Against this background, the IEEE International Conference on Smart Power and Energy Technologies (IEEE SPET 2025), jointly organized by the IEEE Wuhan Chapter and Wuhan University, successfully held its first conference in 2025, attracting active participation from experts and scholars from universities, research institutions, and the energy and power industry both domestically and internationally.
The conference focused on in-depth exchanges on hot topics such as smart grids, renewable energy systems, energy storage technologies, and the digitalization and low-carbon transition of power systems, achieving positive academic feedback and international influence, laying a solid foundation for future continuations.
Building on the success of its inaugural conference, the IEEE 2nd International Conference on Smart Power and Energy Technologies (IEEE SPET 2026) will continue to be co-hosted by the IEEE Wuhan Chapter and Wuhan University, and is scheduled to be held in Wuhan, China, from September 18th to 19th, 2026. The conference will continue and expand upon the academic focus of the first conference, further concentrating on cutting-edge topics such as smart power systems, renewable energy and their grid connection technologies, energy storage, the energy internet, and the application of digitalization and artificial intelligence in the power and energy sector, and the low-carbon transformation and sustainable development of power and energy systems.
This conference aims to create a high-level, international academic exchange platform, bringing together global researchers, engineering experts, power and energy industry practitioners, and young scholars. Through keynote speeches, invited reports, technical forums, thematic forums, and poster presentations, the conference will promote cross-disciplinary exchange and deep integration between academia and industry, and drive the transformation of innovative technologies into practical engineering applications.
We sincerely invite experts, scholars, and industry colleagues from around the world to visit Wuhan and actively participate in the 2026 IEEE SPET, to share the latest research results and engineering practice experience in the field of smart power and energy, and work together to promote the development of the global energy system towards a greener, lower-carbon, and more sustainable future.
