Session Abstract

Driven by the carbon neutrality target, energy system is transforming towards a more electrified and decentralized system, which requires the new type power system to integrate renewable energy resources, EV charging facilities and utilize demand side resources such as flexible loads. While the increasingly high penetration of distributed generations has posed significant challenges, it has brought about opportunities for utilities to leverage advanced technologies as smart sensing, innovative analysis and AI algorithms into the power system operation.

This session aims to provide an opportunities for researchers, engineers and industry leader to share and discuss recent advances, technologies, solutions, and applications in the field of smart sensing, innovative analysis of power systems with high penetration of distributed generations.

Topics include but are not limited to:

  • Smart sensing and advanced metering infrastructure
  • State estimation and situation awareness of distribution system
  • Power quality monitoring and energy efficiency analysis
  • Fault diagnose, asset condition monitoring and asset management
  • Demand side resource modelling and utilization
  • AI and IOT solutions in new type power system operation
